Stop drunk messaging

To stop potentially embarrassing late-night drunken e-mails,google is coming out with a service called Mail googles which prevents drunk messaging by forcing users to solve math problems before they send the message.

When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you’re really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you’re in the right state of mind?

By default, Mail Goggles is only active late night on the weekend as that is the time you’re most likely to need it. Once enabled, you can adjust when it’s active in the General settings.

Its quite funny to think about it, almost like a joke!

Porn for the blind

I was surfing through some blogs yesterday night when i came across this article. It immediately caught my attention and forced me to think for a while. Thats been said, the blind are deprived of several of life’s pleasures (and horrors too, for that matter) but hey, should they be deprived of porn too, something that we all enjoy, even if we won’t cough up to it. No sir, they shouldn’t be, and that’s why we have plethora of audio erotica available in the market. What about the real porn though – the one’s that are available on websites for all to see (and admire, or criticize)?

 

Porn for the Blind is a non-profit organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the United States which offers sexual stimuli for blind people over the internet. Created in 2005, it has become a fast-growing phenomenon, providing an otherwise unavailable service for millions of people. The service operates through the medium of a website, Pornfortheblind.org, composed of a white background with a list of links to mp3 sound clips of pornographic content contributed by volunteers(and their are quite a lot of them). 

Can it be categorized as a social service? Quite controversial, but i think fair enough.

The good old days

Today, while surfing the net i came across the good old microsoft windows sounds. Brings back my school memories. especially windows 95 startup(click to download), still sounds the best in all.  The sound was composed by Brain Eno who is considered as the father of ambient music. Here is a youtube compilation of all the windows sounds till now.  

Another sound that died after coming up of broadband and wireless is the modem sound. It used to sound very irritating at times, but after watching this i could’nt control my laugh.
